5 Perfect Christmas Gifts for Your Fiancée

Published

Perfect Christmas Gifts

As one half of a newly engaged couple, you might be experiencing some stress over the perfect gift to buy your bride-to-be for Christmas. After all, it’s hard to top that diamond ring you just gave her!

But fortunately for you, there are several things that she’s probably dreaming of leading up to your wedding day, and Christmas is the perfect time to make her wishes come true.

Dance lessons

You might be dreading your first dance as a married couple. She might have even subtly hinted that some dance lessons would do you some good. So this is a perfect way to show her that you were listening and that you want to make her happy. Wrap up the gift certificate or give her a pair of shoes with just a date and time written on a card. Let the destination be a secret.

A spa day

She will undoubtedly be spending some time at the spa before the wedding, but this way you get to spoil her a little in the process. Make it an extra special gift by including her maid of honor in the package. Or better yet, make the appointment for a couples spa day and agree to come along. After all, massage therapy has a ton of health benefits that are good for you both. It can help alleviate everything from anxiety to stomach aches.

A personalized ornament

Check out an online marketplace like Etsy for ornaments you can have personalized with names and dates. You can choose from hundreds of designs and personalize it with your first names and the date you got engaged. For that matter, almost anything personalized with your engagement date and names makes for a great gift: a photo album, a jewelry box, a bottle of wine, etc. You name it and you can bet there is someone who will personalize it. Christmas is a great time to start commemorating your unforgettable moments.

A night on the town

This isn’t a time to just take her to your usual spot for dinner. This can be as big as you want it to be. Think Pretty Woman with limousines, operas, and a maitre d. Or if “glam” is really not her style, you can tone it down a bit. Just try to take her somewhere she’s never been, but that you know she’d love. And if you want to really sweep her off her feet, hit the dress boutiques and buy her a new outfit to wear. You can include a few clues in the package or just keep it all a surprise. Either way, she’ll be blown away by the extra thought that went into planning.

A wedding planner book

If she doesn’t already have one, a wedding planner book is an amazing gift. She will need a place to organize all her thoughts, appointments, and ideas, and who better to give it to her than her hubby-to-be. But the thing which makes the wedding planner most special is if you personalize it with a romantic letter or poem right there in the book. That way she has a special reminder of how much you care, and she can see it every day.

The first Christmas gift after you become engaged should be a very special and personal gift that represents both of you as a couple. But it doesn’t have to be expensive. Some of the most romantic gifts are the ones that don’t cost a lot of money, but do require a lot of thought. Chances are she will love whatever you give her, but make sure you keep it personal. Don’t let her first Christmas gift as your fiancée be a toaster.

Richest Horses in The World

Sweet is this world I wish neer to depart, I yearn for a dwelling-place in humanitys heart.

Rabindranath Tagore, the legend was a poet, musician, artist, painter and much more. All Indians remember the icon for his composition of Jana Gana Mana, the National Anthem of India. Whenever the song is sung or played, it fills the heart with the feeling of patriotism and salutes this great legend that the country produced. Lovingly remembered as Gurudev, Kabiguru, and Biswakabi, he was the first Asian to win the Noble prize in literature in the year 1913. He won it for one of his masterpieces, a collection of poems by the name Gitanjali.

He dominated the literary scene for decades in India and was popular all across the world. Widely regarded as a cultural and social reformer, he took part in India’s freedom movement. The people associated with him would often remark that he has a mind ahead of his time. An all-time great, he indeed dwells in humanity’s heart just like he wished.

Born on 7th May 1861 to Debendranath Tagore and Sarada Devi, he was the youngest son among the 13 children. During those times, his family actively participated in Bengal renaissance. He was born into a family engaged in literary pursuits. His family, especially brothers and sisters were poets, philosophers, novelists, etc. It influenced him in his early childhood. The classic poetry of Kalidasa hugely inspired him as well. Being a child prodigy, he started writing poems at the age of 8. By the tender age of 16, he released his first collection of poems by the pseudonym Bhanusimha.

It was just the beginning as his poetic talent had no limitations. It was meant to reach greater heights.

He received basic training from his elder brothers. In 1878, he was sent to England for traditional education. He did not take an interest in the studies. Later, he enrolled at a University college in London for law studies. But again, he dropped out. Meanwhile, he acquainted himself with the literary works of Shakespeare and other English, Scottish, and Irish literature. This impacted him greatly. Deeply rooted in Indian and Western learning tradition, he returned to India.

In the meantime, he started gaining recognition in Bengal and all over India. His poems were translated into English by foreign writers, and thus his literary works became a huge hit in the west, mainly the European countries. This eventually got him the noble prize. He believed in the message of universalism or one world. The ideology and fame as a literary giant gave him the opportunity to travel all across Europe and Asia.

He contributed a lot to the freedom movement by providing the right language to it. With his poems and protest literature, he vehemently opposed British rule. Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore were good friends and admired each other. It was Tagore who gave the title of ‘Mahatma’ to Gandhi.

Besides, his elder brother Jyotirindranath played a significant role in his life. He experimented with different musical traditions. This experience exposed him to various forms of music like classical, folk and devotional. Though the multi-talented legend was famous for musical dramas, dance dramas, essays of all genres, travel diaries, drawings, paintings, the poetry was his forte. The profoundly sensitive, new, and magnificent verses thrilled every listener and reader alike. With the collection of poems like Manasi – 1890, Sonar Tari – 1894, Gitanjali – 1910, Muktadhara-1922, or Yogayog-1929, he touched and expressed all kinds of human emotions.

He wrote thousands of songs, inspired by his travels. He was also influenced by English, Irish, and Scottish folk music along with Hindustani classical music. On August 7, 1941, he breathed his last. One of his verses read: Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.

The songs that were written and composed by him are called Rabindrasangeet. These have indeed stopped with his demise. But, it continues to evoke memories, and the emotions reverberate across decades within us.
